It’s gold for East Dunbartonshire CHP as they become the first partnership in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde to achieve their Healthy Working Lives award at the top level!
For the award, East Dunbartonshire CHP had to demonstrate it was maintaining the actions and campaigns which led to the CHP’s bronze and silver awards, but now they have developed an action plan and health strategy for employees which will run over the next three years.
The action plan and health strategy aims to continue to improve staff health and wellbeing and both were influenced by staff views obtained from a health needs assessment.
Topics flagged up include lifestyle checks, mentally healthy workplace training for managers, as well as ways to reduce absence and staff turnover and increase morale, motivation and commitment for healthy working lives.
The submission also included a strong commitment to the environment by supporting Board energy awareness/sustainability campaigns.
East Dunbartonshire CHP director Karen Murray said: “I am delighted that we are the first CH(C)P to lift the top award! This has been a tremendous achievement, following hard on the heels of our Bronze and Silver awards in 2008 and 2010 respectively.
“I would like to commend everyone involved for their time, effort, commitment and ideas. Reaching Gold reflects the quality of the work carried out by staff, and I’m confident that our plans for the next three years will be equally successful.”
